The Mass Bash start time has been moved up to 11:00am on July 15 due to the growing number of players who want to perform. I told you this was going to be big... Really big!

Doug B.,

Everyone will want to hear Jim Smith play his new FESSENDEN, 13 string steel guitar at the MA BASH. He should be on the list of designated players. Bill H.

Bill, thanks so much for the kind words. I finally got off my duff and asked Doug to add me to the list, which he most graciously did.

All I know is that Jerry had to put mine on hold for a while 'cause some guy is going to Italy and needs his guitar in a hurry!

Actually, let's give Mark Giles some credit here, too. He built the body of mine and I know he built Jim's (Jim C.), too. Jerry sent me a jpg of it the other day, and all I could say was 'WOW'!!! I expect it'll be ready pretty soon.

Mark has been doing some really nice work.

any info on the schedule line up... who plays when?

I'll be playing my no-longer-spankin'-new-Zum... but I'm looking forward to hearing those Fesseys too. Jerry (and crew) build fine guitars... I may have to buy one yet...

Dave, Bill just has the players sign up for a time slot as they arrive. He's run it that way for 19 years and it works pretty well. If you have a specific time that you want to play, get in touch with Bill and mention it to him. Each player gets 1/2 hour including setup time.

Now I just have to make sure I don't play after Bobbe Seymour... or Jim Cohen... or Jimmy Roule... or Jim Smith... or DVA... etc, etc

I haven't looked forward to any show as much as this one, I'm gonna' go nuts. (don't have that far to go,)Sounds like everyone is hyped,a lot of good friends, maybe we should just sit around and "shuck and jive" and forget all this steel playin' stuff. Just kidding ,naturally, however we'd have a good time no matter what!

Maybe you could set me up an escort from Springfield, pick us up at the airport you know motorcade ala your old boss Teddy. Ps I saw you go back inside to pick up the tip I left.

Myron I don't believe many people are going to recognize you by your real name. So let me tell them that you are Mel Labbe the great rock fiddle Key board player that worked with the Conn group Fountainhead and I believe The Whiskey River band. Also you filled in when My good friend Dick Paquette passed away with the Bear mountain Band. And you sat in a few times with me and turned down my offers because I couldn't pay you the match of what you were getting. Bring the fiddle and have some fun July 15th I guarantee you plenty of picking as long as your Louisiana coon ass Country side is there. Joe

It sounds like there will be a lot of forumites at the show, and I'm looking forward to meeting all of them. After the 1998 show, some of the forumites were surprised to learn that other members had been to the same show, and they had missed the oppurtunity to say hello. Hopefully that won't happen this year. The forum has a huge presence at the Mass Bash this year. Just look at the list of performers and the MC!

we can take a cue from St. Louis and have arriving Forumites put on a yellow sticker or the like...? or a "Hi, My Name Is..." sticker...

any other suggestions?

I'll be the guy with the bloodshot eyes. I'm coming in from Holland the day prior on the 'redeye'. Come to think of it, bloodshot eyes may not be such a good discriminating characteristic....
