Probably the most reknowned guitarist that ever lived died this morning from complications of cancer. He is the reason so many of us play music, and why a few of us live in Nashville today. A truly great musician and human being is gone, but his legacy and music will certainly live on, inspiring generations and generations to come. Best, Boomer

Chet Atkins.
The first time I saw Chet, I was a young kid. He was on TV playing on the Dave Garroway Today Show in the window at the TV studios in New York. Wow ,what a guitarist.how neat.Latter, when some friends and I were learning the guitar, we tried to copy Chet.Had all of his albums. One of my friends acctualy got that finger pickin' down. Both of us ended up playing pedal steel. How many have copied Chet, and looked up at him. How many artist did he get started to stardom.A legend.
We will miss you Mr Guitar.

Chet was my father in laws favorite player. Dad was an excellent player himself. He played a Gretch Chet Atkins model guitar and was a true lover of the Nashville sound. The strange thing about this is Bob passed away eleven years ago today. I'm sure he can't wait to sit down and play with him.
