All right Mike!

I especially liked that ending lick on your steel ride at about 2:29. Very Happy

Larry

Thanks Larry. The lick is an example of the advantages of putting changes on the bass strings of a U 12. In this case, the 12th string is lowered to the A note on the A pedal, so I get a full A6 chord with the pedals down when I play all 12 strings. I used my regular E9/B6 tuning, but am basically working out of the pedals down/A6 position.

DON'T EVER LET ANYBODY TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN'T PLAY ROCK ON A STEEL.

Hey Ray. (If this steel guitar thing doesn't work out I'll switch to writing poetry.)

That's one of Bill Stafford and Ed Packard's legendary zirconia bars. I bought two of them in '97 when they were available. Bill and/or Ed actually sent me a 3rd une by mistake, but I gave it back.

Then in 2004, Jody Sanders found one with my name engraved in it. I tried to pay for it, but Bill insisted that I give one of the bars to John Hughey instead. I like to think that every time John used it, he and I were shaking hands.

Great Mike makes me think you are one of the baby boomer rockers. I was brought up on rock and roll and love to play it on my lap steel when I can.

I used an Electro Harmonix Big Muff, together with an MXR 6 band EQ.
