Hey all you steel players... Anyone coming down to the Ohio Valley Opry to see Herbie Wallace on Saturday, June 16th- tell them you are a steel player, and they will give you a dollar off at the door.

Mike, I will be there for sure. Looking forward to hearing some great pickin'. I just have one small problem, I can't find a derby hat anywhere. See you Saturday night, I will be there early. Looks like you guys should have considered doing two shows.

Mike, I had a great time and what a show. The old Opera house hasn't heard a steel guitar set like that before, even The Phantom of Opera enjoyed it. For those of you that missed it make sure that you watch for an announcements of future shows. A nice friendly restaurant just across the street that stays open late so you can get something before you go home.

The format is really good, complete with an announcer with commicerials just like Grant Turner did on the Grand Ole Opry. It sure lends to the local flavor. Each show has a different sponsor and last about 30 minutes before the next one comes on. We were treated to Gospel, Country, Bluegrass and some Old Country from the 50's. They even threw in a little comedy.

I know there were quite a few steel players in the crowd but I think the regulars were in awe when Herby did his set. He joined Mike on the next set and really cut loose with some great steel playing.

It doesn't matter which way you drive into McConnelsville it is a beautiful drive through the country, I came across the Ohio Byway on Rt 78 and the views were fantastic, if you are planning to make a show leave early enough to enjoy the countryside and have a good meal at the local restaurant before the show.

Mike,
I'd have to say that last Saturday nights show was one of the best we have had. Steel guitar was at it's finest, and there wasn't one bad act that came across the stage. I think my favorite part of the show is when you and Herby traded licks on your segment. Man, that was great. You fellows had that bluegrass band from Kentucky about to trade in their Martins and sign up for one of Herby's instrucional programs! Great Show. Thanks to all you steel players for coming out to support this.
