Mr. Billy Lee Carter of W. Va. and Akron Ohio passed away Sunday, June 17th in Charleston, WV. Wake Thurs June 21st 2-4 & 7-9 at Newcomer-Farley funeral home, which is on the east side of Akron, right off Gilchrist Road, at 131 North Canton Rd. Funeral Home # (330) 784-3334.
Many pickers out there at one time played at Billy Lee's Lounge, or the Country Palace, Starlight Lounge, Moonlight Lounge, Country Club, and 489 Bar. He ran training grounds for Nashville pickers. He will be missed.

I too am sadened at the loss of this music
icon of the greater Akron area. I too, as
many, played there at one time or another and have many fond memories of Billy.
