Are there any steel seminars going on that a beginner could benefit from? I'm thinking about multi-day residential programs--something like those that Jeff Newman put on.

You could go to Virginia and take lessons for a few hours every day from Buddy Charleton. At the end of the day head back to your hotel room and practice to get ready for the next day. Buddy is a great teacher.

Or commit to 10 weeks of weekly private lessons from somebody in your area like Doug Beaumier. The real learning is done in the hours of daily practice.

There's nothing better than one-on-one lessons. Of course, with a DVD or VHS, you could watch stuff over and over until you get it.

I would highly recommend Mr. Jody Cameron of Texas. He recently came to Oregon and provided a very intense 3-day seminar for another psg player and myself in our private home. It was wealth worth the time and money for what I took away from that experience. Check out Jody's website. He is noted to be one of the best pedal steel instructors.

Thanks, Dennis! Yes, I would consider coming to do a seminar if we could get at least two guys/gals interested in participating.

My website is: www.jodycameronmusic.com My ph. number has changed, though, it is now 979-709-4600.

Thanks, JC

Jody Cameron will probably be the next "JEFF NEWMAN". He studied under Jeff and Buddy as he was growing up in the world of steel guitar. I would like to think I had a little something to do putting him on the scene. I sneaked in on one of his seminars recently and he was doing an excellent job. Jody is a super player and is fast becoming a super teacher. You can't go wrong studying with Jody. This includes all levels of players. E9th and C6th. Jody.

I have been a student of Jody's for almost a year now and believe me you cant go wrong with learning from Jody Cameron! He is an excellent teacher and friend Smile He knows the PSG in and out and forwards and backwards, both E9 & C6. And, the best part is he can put it into a way that YOU can understand. I highly recommend my friend Mr. Jody Cameron.

Brandon

I just want to say that Jody responded to my email request to come to Oregon. I don't know of anyone else who would consider this and make it happen. I gained a wealth of knowledge on the psg and made a friend for life. It's true, he is the new Jeff Newman for steel instruction. I will no doubt arrange for more time with Jody in the future. I really enjoyed him and his knowledge. I feel I have made a good friend for life too!
