I received a great Sho-Bud pac a seat from one of our members. Great condition, everything he said. But the legs are too short. My old GFI has 12 1/2" legs, these are 11". Is there an easy way to fix this, besides making a small box to set the seat on? Does anyone make the old bent pipe legs?

Michael

Maybe the shorter leg's are a better deal for us old guys ,
that way you could add an inch & a half to the pad in top .Shocked

I added some height by getting crutch tips (Is that what they're called?) and partly filling them with washers. Quick and dirty solution, but probably not good for 1.5".

The legs on mine are made out of 3/4 copper tubimg. If that is what yours are made from you just need to sweat (with a propane torch) the joint loose and put a piece 1 1/2 inches or whatever in its place. Quite an easy fix if your legs are copper.

I don't think they're copper. They're the gray look, I've never seen copper legs.

Mine are definately copper, painted black. Different brand of seat though as well. The copper is pretty sturdy on mine it may be an easy option for you getting 4 90's a couple feet of straight and custom making your own. A buddy who is a plumber can help you out easy whether copper or tubing. You could even use emt conduit and make some pretty sturdy custom legs for just a couple of bucks.

Michael, I had the same problem with mine.
I used the rubber tips for a while, but had to take them off to fold the legs away.
So I got some 3/4" electrical conduit to extend them. Just cut off the desired length and splice them together with some wood dowel rod. Drilled holes and bolted them together.
I'm sure there's a better way to make the connection, but I was in a hurry and it works for me. Plus the legs will fold away now.

Bob, I measured the difference in my old short Sho-Bud and my GFI. The short side of the Bud seat is 10 3/4", the long side is 11 3/4". To bring it up to the GFI level, it looks like they need to be about an 1 3/4" to 2" longer. The diameter of the aluminum pipe is 1", exterior dimension.

I sure appreciate it!

I need some too.Mine are about 2 1/2 inches too short. It could take 3 more inches. The short side measures only about 6 inches from the bend to the bottom.
