I have a Sierra with an SKB type rolling case. Are there SKB type cases available for other manufacturors steel guitars? I don't want the "flight" type case but rather the plastic molded type. |

Len those Sierra SKB cases are actually drum stand cases ...so I guess with the right amount of foam you could probably make any steel fit in it ok. |

Len I make light weight steel cases with wheels and a spring handle if you are interested. Both one piece and split cases. Hatton Split Cases (716) 691-6527. |

Len,
Take a look at my Hatton Split Cases (Click on Link Below)that Kevin made for me a year ago ..I believe the picture says alot but just in case, you're going to get fantastic quality and first-class customer service from Kevin...He called me at least 5 times to get the exact measurements to the inth degree...his price was also right on target for this type of workmanship! Another lightweight rolling case is the canvas (or nylon) Groove Pak rolling keyboard case sold in different sizes at Sam Ash. They are cheap, and with a thin sheet of plywood and some foam do a great job, with velcro straps to hold the guitar in place (along with whatever foam configuration you come up with). They also have two large outside pockets for cables, notes, a pedal or two etc.
I use one with my Fender 400 (which did not fit a stock case anyway due to added knee lever bellcranks projecting a bit too far) and it's the best $30 I ever spent on a case. I would have paid $100! _________________ No chops, but great tone

There is a company in PA that makes a really nice affordable custom case very similar to the ones Bob Dell made with wheels. They have a Website at http://www.unitecproducts.com/

Len,
If you are feeling handy the cheap way to go is SKB with home made foam inserts. Foam is pretty easy to cut to the right shapes with an electric knife once you are done with the turkey.
For light custom cases these guys do very nice work:

Thanks guys for the recommendations. I have a new steel coming and don't want to stress my back any more than I already have.
Happy Thanksgiving,
