John Swain recently moved to Newberry,S.C. from New Jersey and I will say it is their lose by his performance at The Saluda Steel Jam on Sunday. He is a very good picker and a heck of a nice guy and it shows when he is playing that he enjoys what he's doing. We are proud to have him in our community!

John has been a great player for long time in NJ/NY... We played the same clubs, often for the same bands for many years... He did the right thing by getting away from the frozen north where the gig scene is as frigid as the weather!.. Lots of luck John!... bob

Hey Steve,

You are so right. John did a great job Sunday in Saluda, one of the highlights.

Jim Cohen, I think it's official, we've decided you can't have him back. I'm not sure, but I think I even heard him say ya'll the other day. By the way, are you still playing that Suzy Boggess song on your shows?

Seriously John, it was a real pleasure working with you Sunday, welcome to SC. Don't be a stranger.

See ya soon,
Jim

John is a great guy and steel player but the rest of us Jersey guys are glad that there's one less steel picker to share the work with. Jess' kiddin'.
It's always a pleasure to hang with John & hear him pick. He looks too young to be retired.
My wife wants to see New Bern N.C for a possible retirement location. Does anyone know anything about New Bern?

Thanks Jimbeau. I forgot it was me that retired. See what happens when you get more "mature"? To quote Bob Hope "first you forget names, then faces. Next you forget to zip up and finally you forget to zip down".
