The Mid Canada Show was a huge success and The Links are booking for next year.
I was going to play Lara's Theme, but forgot how it went. I completely went blank. The fiddle player had to kick start me. This ever happen to anyone??

Happens to me all the time Joe. That's why I sometimes talk so much before I play. By the way, I'm sorry I wasn't there Joe. My doctor anchored me to the Hat because of some drug he has me on. If all goes well, I sure wont miss the next one. ... Billy

It's the first one you missed in years. People were asking where Billy Jones & Tex Emery were? You fellows have made a super impression on the people attending the shows. My steel was a 1/4 tone out of wack, but managed, heavy on the vibroto. Hadn't played in front of my "peers" in 7 years, and was a little jittery, but it went well.
I placed the Beaver Log amongst the "Big Boys", and it looked exactly the way I wanted it to look..........Ugly. But, it had a lot of curious lookers huddled around it. Amazing what an old ugly peice of wood can do!!!!!!!!

That's another thing that bothered me Joe. I really wanted to take a shot at playing that old log of yours. Donny tells me that it sounded great. .... Billy

Joe, that old log of yours is going to make you famous. And you deserve it just for having the guts to do it.

I don't know about being famous, but it sure gets them talkin'. There's a fellow in my area that made a fiddle out of a toilet plunger. His daughter sings and they tour the shopping malls. He can't keep up to the tape sales.

There's a lesson in there for all of us. Wish I could figure out what it is, though.
