Just finised listening to a great c.d. titled "Roy's Toys". Bob Hempker sent it to me and I'll tell you what this c.d. is great. You've probably already guessed it is Roy Clark's band without Roy. Bob Hempker has been a friend of mine for many years and one of my favorite players even longer. He lives up to my expectations on this disc. There is something for everyone on this c.d. from good old shuffles like "Wine Me Up" and "Heartaches By The Number" to some hard driving bluegrass like "Big Mon" and "Scotland". The James Taylor song "Carolina In The Pines" is on there as well as John Hartford's "Gentle On My Mind". Now let's talk about Bob's tunes on here. He plays "I Love You So Much It Hurts" and it is one of the best cuts of that tune I've ever heard. And for those of you who miss the old Texas Troubadour tunes Bob and the guitar player totaly wear out "Honey Fingers". There is also some jazz, and other things on here. They sell these at Roy's shows and I don't know about through the mail. Get in touch with Bob Hempker and find out. This c.d. is a must have. I'm glad I've got one. Mike Sweeney |

Mike, thanks so much for the kind words. I value your friendship greatly. Coming from you, I take these compliments dearly, because you're so much like me in being "honest" with your opinions. You are one of my favorite players, also. I've worn your Gospel CD out, and I can't wait to hear your up and coming one. Hang in there. You are a great player. I think you and I are two of the most popular guys here on the forum, also!!
