Hello, my name is Fessy. I am Joe's pedal steel guitar. In the photo, I am the good looking one--the one with the laquer finished body. For fifty-some years along with some of my ancestors, Lappy and Old Push-Pull, have been having to play countless tear jerkers that make me cry--from YOUR CHEATIN'HEART to IT'S CRYIN'TIME AGAIN. At times I do enjoy those songs that give us goosebumps. We are known for our crying. One steel that comes to mind is John Hughey's--what is a great sound. The other night Joe was playing me--some old tear jerker--and I stopped right in the middle of the song, threatening to break my third string--I didn't want to cry anymore! I want to have some fun. Today's country fan want fun not crying. So turn on my distortion pedal, turn it up some, and let's play BIDONKADONK!!! Unlike our cousin, Telly, the six-string quitar we are not up front shaking and dancing around--I'm usually back in the corner next to the loud bass amp. I enjoy watching the young fans dancing and having a good time--once in a while I will give the pretty young ladies a whistle. What bothers me the most is when someone calls me a piano. My reply is "Don't you know I am an ironing board"! That's all for now--Joe wants to tune me. Fessy
