I watched the Alvino Rey video on you tube recently (wow) and like a lot of steel players ( and musicians in general ) from that era, they love to look and smile directly into the camera when they did a great lick this can be seen on many "old" videos on you tube .
More recently Tom brumley did it on the buck owens videos during his turnaround .
This doesn't seem to happen these days , do we have less showmanship or do we need to concentrate more ? |

Bo thats bad for the strings...David from the Hacienda bros connects with the audience really well..
