In case any one is interested, the quarterly jam for the ASGA has been changed from May to April 29th. It will be at the Brandy Springs Community Center in Mercer, Pa. Starts at Noon and goes 'till there is nobody left standing or 7 PM which ever comes first..
Same goes for the rest of the year. August and November, ususally the third Sunday of the month.
Come on out and join us for some pickin' & grinnin', and lie tellin', and what ever else we might get into. Who knows you might even have a good time.

Hi Jim- I see you are from Washington ,Pa. Back in 1945 right after I got out of the army, I played at the "Green Tree Tavern" for 6 nights a week for a couple of weeks. Is it still there? Small World.

Harry- Washington ,Pa is about 30 miles from Wheeling , W.Va. also not too far from Pittsburgh.

I went to Wheeling on my night off to see a country western band. I talked to the guys there and they sure weren't making much money playing "country" in those days........al

Harry, The ASGA is made up of people from all over western Pa. , eastern Ohio, And even some from W. VA. and I think There are even a couple from New York. We have the jams in Mercer Pa. There is an active membership of over 100. Some others have not renewed yet for this year. We have a mailing list of nrearly 200, that covers about a 150 mi radius of Pittsburgh.
Al, No, the Green Tree closed back in the early 80's. And the money ain't much better now days either.
Mike, Sorry about your bad luck. Working for a living is really a bummer ain't it. See ya at Bolivar. Maybe we can get on the same set this time.
