Last nights awards at the Reunion Of Performing Entertainers were very well placed, but I believe that everyone in attendence felt the same way I did when it was announced that John had won the Musician of the year award. He was looking and feeling great as he walked to the stage to accept the award amid a hall full of standing, applauding peers and fans. I couldn't have been more proud if it had been my son getting the award!
Congratulations, John! |

Boy, am I relieved. By the title, I thought someone decided to string John up out on main st. But seriously, I would like to congratulate MY favorite steel player on his award. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Yes, I agree with all you other musicians , in stating that there is no other steel player more deserving to win this most important AWARD. Congratulations, John. I've admired your fine talents since your days with Conway. You were the reason why I enjoyed hearing Conway sing; it was that lovely back ground music which made my heart flicker.. Glad to hear you are doing much better, John.May The Good Lord watch over you and bless you and the wife..Regards, Bernie _________________ 2007 Zum S-10; 1967 Sho-Bud [ D-10 ]; 85 S-10 Sierra; 1953 Multi-Kord [ 6 String- 4 pedals ] A Sho-Bro six String Resonator Guitar; Nashville 112 Amp; hilton Vol. Pedal |

Hi everybody,
I just want to say thanks for all of the kind words.
I know that there are other people more deserving of this award but I am so grateful and thankful for it.
I was never so surprised in my life. I couldn't hardly give an exceptance speach I was so "flabbergasted". Whatever that means. Ha!
But again, I am very grateful, and especially for the kind words from all of you.

John; tonite I was watching a TV Special on the RFD Channel on dish Net-work; It was being videoed from Nashville with Ralph Emery hosting the program; I am wondering if that were you playing steel; The camera didn't do any close-ups, especially of the steel player; but from a distance, I was thinking possibly it were you. Many of the big names of the past were featured.. Again, John, Congrats on your R.O.P.E. Award..
