Thanks Danny. It's official and I am now one of the family. I've had that steel for about 5 years and been promising Charlie Stepp I would get it out and learn to play it. Started Tuesday and know a few kickoffs already. Pushing pedals in my sleep ha ha...

Bump... I sure would like to know if they still have this show and any info I could get. I could always use a trip to the mountains.

No Richard. Stony Stonecipher put on his last steel show in 2000. It was a great show and a lot of us hated to see it go.

Sorry I didn't know. I'm new to the instrument and wanna take in all I can. Wish someone would start one. Like I said: I like a trip to the mountains and to hear a steel jam there would be awesome.

Sam White had the first "Steel In" show in Greeneville, Tn before he moved away. Bobby Loveday and myself had the "Smoky Mountain Steel In # 2" this past July in Newport, TN, which is a gateway to the Smokies. I have not talked to Bobby about hosting another one yet. I have a problem with finding the time to do it. We would like to have one in March when Sam White will be back for a visit, but nothing is definate yet. Newport was a great location and the facility was great. Turnout was fair, but not really what we needed. Not bad, I guess for our first attempt and short notice of the event. I will post if and when we decide to do it again. I will speak to Bobby and see how he feels about it.

Thanks for asking.

George

Hey George I want to thank you for giving me the credit for starting the Smokey Mountain Steel IN. You guys named it I do not deserve credit for that You and Bobbe deserve the credit for naming it The Smokey Mountain Steel In.I would love to come to the one in March. We will be down there around the 15th of March so that would be a good time I think. I will let you know after this Wedensday when we have our Rhode Island Country Horrizons meeting I'm on the Board.
