Hi all, thought I'd try this here first. This banjo is from the collection of Al Hendrickson (which I acquired at his estate auction), an LA studio player who recorded numerous TV and movie soundtracks - Roots, Mission Impossible, Bonanza, etc. etc. This instrument appears on many of them. It is extremely beautiful and in excellent condition. The mute is fully functional. The metal around the rim shows the wear of its age and use but no damage. The drum is a natural skin, perhaps the original. Gorgeous inlays and carved scrollwork on the back of the neck near the body. Plays great, huge sound. Hard shell case included.

I'm asking $2,850 plus shipping & insurance (it's not light!)

Also from Al's collection is a little 5-string Cameo banjo, a bit of a beater and not in particularly playable condition, but interesting for its history. If the buyer would like it I will include it with the Plectrum for just the additional shipping costs (pictures forthcoming of this one. . )

John, thanks for the response. I'm on my way to where I have it stored right now so I will take a look. The serial number is 23039.

It is indeed a Style No. 3.

Here are some pictures of the Cameo banjo - it's not in THAT bad of shape really, it can be played. The case is for the B & D.

Sorry for the resolution, this is from my phone. There are some scratches on the back & the finish on the headstock is checked.
