We have a father/daughter act in our band that does that type of picking. The young lady is a fantastic four and five finger picker and Dad picks bass on her acoustic while she does her thing. They are very popular around here.
It is great to hear players who can speed pick with all four or five fingers and everythnig comes out crystal clear.
The guy in that video is a great picker. |

My ex-wife (also a bassist) and I could play Keith Jarrett's "Lucky Southern" on one acoustic bass. Not recommended unless you know your fellow player very well. |

Now That was "Entertaining" and a lot of fun They should perhaps have won "Entertainers of the Year" what do you think CMA ? A Lot more entertaining than the clown who won.... _________________ BMI S-10,3+4,Peavey Vegas 400,15"BW equipped,Goodrich 120,Zoom Studio rack mount-FX,Liberty Resonator,Fender Telecaster,JT-148 Jazz Box,Blueridge BR-180 |

Good to see that sort of thing again! I recall seeing it done many times back in the '50s and '60s, as well as doing it myself a time or two! (Using the song "Fingers On Fire".)
It's done, of course, on many instruments - but not nearly as often as it used to be. |

The cool thing to me is these college kids knowing a Jerry Reed song. Thanks for posting John. |
