The Portwood brothers, family, staff and Freddy Carr and over Thirty Productions did it up right and proper this past weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. It was a great show and I send them my deepest thanks for the invitation to be there with all those great players. (Herby Wallace played "My Window Faces the South" so blasted fast you could not even pat your foot to it in time). Never have I heard it any faster-and all with the typical Wallace finesse. Joe Wright really thrilled the crowd. I enjoyed watching the reaction from the Moose Lodge members when they first "experienced" Joe's other "self".
Thanks Lonnie, Glen, Bob Taylor and all the rest for this show. It was a great pleasure for me, and I got to meet Garland Nash. What a great player. Thought Byrd was on stage when I first heard Garland.
So, all I can say is that if you missed this one, you should not miss the next one.
Great dance on Sat. night with the Cowboy Orchestra and invited steelers.
Thanks again,
