I recently saw a cool blue/green 8 string Emmons lap steel at a guitar show-the pickup looked similiar to a DeArmond or Harmony with the Emmons name/logo pressed into the metal on top of the pickup so I am sure it is original-Now I have seen another on with a more conventional looking Emmons pedal steel type pickup which also looks to be original-does anybody know much about these?-I think it would be interesting to have one-Thanks-PW |

Doug B-That is exactly it-I thought it looked like a DeArmond-check the one for sale now on Ebay-the pickup looks more like a regular pedal steel model |

I have a black one (with that groovy atomic fretboard) and the pickup shown in Doug's post. It's a surface mount pickup, and it sounds great! Also, I don't know what kind of wood they used, but it's very resonant, and even gives some "moan", which is very cool when overdriven. _________________ Peter
