Hi fellow steelers
This is really for the ZB guys who know a lot more
about them than me ! Way back in 1974 Mike Nesmith
came over to London Uk for, I think, a one-off show
with Red Rhodes. Now as I lived at the edge of the world in Wales I was unable to attend the show,
however, about two weeks later I went to Eric Snowball's shop, ZB Guitars UK, and lo and behold there was Reds ZB D-11/10 in the shop. now this may
not seem very interesting until on closer inspection
the Eb6th neck was keyless !! Apparently Red gave the
guitar to Eric so he did'nt have to take it back to the States,it was seven pedals and god knows how many
knee levers ! also it was that loverly green colour.
I believe UK steelie, Pete Wilshire, had it as I have
a black and white photo of him playing it on a TV
show. Any of you want to see it I'll post it on the
Forum.Hope somebody can throw some light on this
guitar.
All the best

Actually Frank, casting my mind back, I can remember seeing it at Eric's all those years ago, early 70's and the only keyless guitars at the time were just the Kline as I recall, and Jerry Evendon of U.K. who was making his "Driftwood" steels in Croydon South London. Pete Willshire played one of those too. Frank you just signed my guestbook again, but I need your e'mail address....try again...it's the sun in Corfu getting to your head right ??? Lets see the picture

Hi Frank
I can remember playing a gig on the same bill as Jonny Young around 1975 and Pete Wilshire had a keyless ZB. I can't recall it being a double neck but I seem to remember the keyless head did seem rather crude with the tuning being achieved by wrapping the strings around a hex bolt which was tightened or loosened to achieve pitch. Hi Guys
Here is (I hope !) the photo of Pete Wilshire playing
this guitar, you'll probably have to juggle about with the zoom to see a good shot of it. hope you like
it.Apart from Johnny Young at the back on acoustic guitar the only other one I knew was Dave Coomber on bass.I've added a photo of me and Eric Snowball taken two years ago.
Mick, e-mail is franklinmilo@yahoo.co.uk hope all is
well over there
All the best from warm Cofu.

Hi guys, me again
If my memory serves me right it came back to Eric's
shop and he stripped it down and made a SD-10 out
of it,shame really as it was unique.
