| Could someone point me to a guitar chord resource for lap steel C6/A7 tuning. Im learning Georgia on my mind and its perfect for this tuning, G7/B7/Am7/ E7 etc, also theres a few diminished chords in there so I could really get the most out of that tuning for this song, its not tab I want, just chord positions. Rick, the bottom string is C# on the C6/A7 tuning (six- string). What is the usual tuning of the last two strings on an eight-string?

As Howard said ... The Jerry Byrd 8 string C6/A7
Side bar:
I don't use 8 strings ... but at the '07 HSGA convention ... I flew ... so I could only take the two new 8 string Dustpans I had made ...
Knowing folks would want to tune them to various other tunings ...
I strung them accordingly ... i.e., I didn't want to use two (near) identical strings at the 6th and 7th string positions ...
And I practiced using 8 strings ... uggggg 
So this was the 8 string C6/A7 I used ...

I understand that Joaquin Murphey used C6/A9 with a high G on top:
1) G
2) E
3) C
4) A
5) G
6) E
7) C#
8) B - this string is a step above string 4. |

| Yes, Rick...an octave lower. It gives some nice bottom fullness. Great for bluesy things as well. |

A bit of Trivia:
Did you know that when Byrd changed the C6/A7 to his version of B11, he tuned like this, on 8-strs.: (Low to High)
Lo-B--A--C#--D#--F#--A--C#--E
