If, and when you achieve a sound you like I guess You leave your set up the same,I mean Steel to vol pedal to pre amp, effects, tone tweakers and suchlike.
For the past few months I have used a pre amp to a profex to a Nash 112 and have liked the sound. last night I decided to cut out the pre amp and the profex and I used only a delay device and no reverb,I was pleasantly surprised at the great sound I had.
I wonder if after playing with this set up for some time my ears will become accustomed!and if I return to my original set up will I be "Pleasantly surprised" at the sound.
How long do You stay with the same set up?
Best regards
Billy

Often, our ears read most any change as an improvement. Then, after we get used that (new) sound, the next change (whatever it may be) seems somehow even better.

That has sometimes been diagnosed as G.A.S. (gear acquiusition syndrome). Laughing

I've known players over the years that go from one combination almost endlessly to another, never being satisfied...until they finally reach that "magical tone" nirvanna they've been seeking. While all along (and even after they reached that point), they sounded pretty much the same, to me.
