Any input is more than appreciated, also might include the best town in Texas also.
Mucho Thanks,
Randy

At the risk of sounding trite, such a place is like gold. It's where you find it.

I usually operate in a triangle with the points being San Antonio, Seguin, and Austin.

YMMV

I've talked to some guys in various places who have no problems finding several bands to play in. Some of these guys even so busy they don't mind getting other steel players sub so they can get a breather. These are typically areas where there is not much competition or areas where the guys that can play just don't want to bother going out in smokey bars. Some of these busy players are very modest in saying they are not the best guy in town, but they are the guy that is willing to haul his stuff to the gig, help out setting up, not just his own stuff, be on time, know the material, get along with the other players, and don't over imbide. I'm guessing, the place you might find may not be an area that is known for music or a music town, or a place with lots of hungry musicians looking for a break.
