O.K., I've got my body armor on, so let the pounding begin. I acquired a D-10 crossover with the intent to convert to an SD-10. Once I got it home, I found the guitar in better condition than first thought. The crossover works and the guitar plays, and the sound/tone is incredible. On a 1-10 scale, mechanical is about a 9, cosmetic about a 6, electrical about a 9, and tone is about a 12. I would rather trade for a S-10, or SD-10 3X5 if this guitar is worth more to someone else. Depending on what's out there would depend on what I would kick in. THE GUITAR IS WHAT IT IS After 10/31 I will proceed with conversion if no one is interested. Call 800 272 8000 ext 154 M-F 8-5. Thanx, Randy
pee ess-I have more pictures I can e-mail directly to you.

I would think that there are plenty of S10's out there and since there were not all that many crossovers made and your plays well and is mechanically sound.... I would not molest it...but that's just me.

Why does that sound like extortion to me? "Either you buy it now or else the crossover bites the dust!" Whoa!

Guys, I know Randy Blackwell personally. He is a good player, and if he says it sounds good and is in good shape, then it really is. I think that Randy simply meant that if someone is interested in the Crossover, in it's original condition, he would like to offer it to a good home. Extortion seems a bit harsh, I think that he meant that if he keeps it, he will convert it to how he will like it. However, I think that it says a lot for him that he would make it available to someone who wants a great Vintage guitar, that is mechanically sound, with a great tone. This guitar, for someone interested in a crossover, would make a fine addition to their collection. Randy is a great guy and player. You can believe what he says! Someone will get this and have a great VINTAGE GUITAR!

A disemboweled crossover will still be heavier than any D10 you can find.

And doing a "hack" job on a crossover would make it completely worthless as well !!

Did they really paint the pedals all different colors? Why didn't I think of that?

I don't think Randy has anything wrong with his brain.

Its his guitar. He arguably couldn't get a better sounding SD10 any other way.

And I think he is showing more than the required amount of sensitivity towards those who care about such things, and has been very polite offering it for sale/swap.

Back off, or I'm gonna come over there and ... and ...

I'll just come over there and cause some trouble

Jim, I think you have to use a different color shoe for each pedal on the crossover, I had two of em & you should have seen me changing those shoes while playing & never missing a lick!!
