Mitchell psgs?

Anyone know anything about Mitchell pedal steels? If yes, how are they to play, use and maintain and are they worth anything, relatively speaking?

A non-psg-playing friend of mine asked today (he'd been asked by a store who'd been offered one) and I can't say that the name rings a bell. (Miller, yeah, but not Mitchell...)
