Being a lazy Norski I copied this post from the IGS forum instead of writing my own:
Q : Where can I find 45 minutes of great slide guitar music from all over the world?
A : On Slide Planet Volume 1!
Yes, Slide Planet is now opening its virtual airports for immigration, and to welcome you all Slide Planet Volume 1 awaits your ears - featuring a wide range of exciting slide guitar music from Andrea Bonino, Paolo Conti, Steinar Gregertsen, Fred Kinbom, Mike Neer, Christiaan Oyens and Jim Petit!
Lap slide and bottleneck - swing, dub, folk, psychedelic, experimental - Weissenborn, Tricone, Dobro, electric lap steel, Chaturangui - by an Italian, two Frenchmen, a Norwegian, a Swede, an American and a Brazilian!
Free to download here ! Slide Planet Volume 1
Comments, reviews, suggestions are most welcome (and so are voluntary donations to the artists to support their work)!

I was glad to contribute to this project. I don't normally play solo pieces, but I wanted to play something with a real Americana feel to it, particularly as it related to my childhood in NJ. My pieces are pretty much spontaneous compositions, after 2 or 3 takes.
So, that said, I'm reprezentin' the good ol' USofA.
PS--now that I don't own an acoustic steel guitar, I had to record with my Seagull with a nut raiser. Not quite the same, in many ways.... _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Hey guys,
Very deep, very grand, very honest. The best stuff to arrive on the net in a long time. Hats off to all of you on this record. Nothing is missing.
This album sets a new bar for integrity, listenability, concept, gusto, and performance. You've done well!!! Can't wait for volume's 2, 3, 4, 5...
See you on the strings,
