All the charts I find on this song (BIAB, roughstock etc) have the last line as I V I I,,,,,,I hear it as I IV V I,,,,i.e. "instead of (IV) having sweet dreams, (V) about (I) you,,,,,

You're right Sonny, it's I, IV, V

Tab:

According to the sheet music I have it goes:

instead...         sweet...        about you
1   2   3   4      1   2  3  4     1  2  3  4
I               IV     V       I



A lot of musicians play it as follows, and the vocal (melody) suggests this, but I'm not sure if the chords change like this:

instead..having    sweet...        about you
1   2   3   4      1   2  3  4     1  2  3  4
I      IV              V       I

Hey Thanks Doug,,,I've tried to make it "fit" without the IV chord,,,,but to me it just "screams" to go there,,,
