Anybody going to the Cowboy Symposium next weekend in Ruidoso, NM? This will be my first time to go and I'm wondering what to expect. |

Been there a couple of times. Expect to have a great time. Eat, drink and be merry. Meet new friends. I found a wife there. Have not been back since but that is another story, Ha. If it does not rain you will enjoy. |

Larry,
I've not been there before but I will be this year. I'll be playing steel with Floyd Domino's All Stars. Our band leader and fiddle player have been and said it's a hoot. They will be there also, Richard Helsey playing fiddle and Billy Mata our singer and band leader.
Look me up while your there. I'll be playing the pre-party Thursday and the show friday & Saturday at 7pm. |

Roger,
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to seeing you and all the other great musicians there. Unfortunately, I waited too long to get reserved seats for Thursday night and had to settle for general admission, which does not include the pre-party. See you Thursday! |

Hey Roger, It was a real pleasure to meet you.
I sure enjoyed your pickin'!
What didja think of Bobby Couffer? I hope I'm still walking at his age let alone dancin' around on the stage, and singin Hawaian songs!
Hope to see you soon somewhere. Chuck |

Chuck..It was a pleasure to finally meet you to. That was my first time at the symposium and I am happy to say I have been invited back next year. This was the first totally non pedal gig I have ever done. It was a real challenge for me as Floyd pulled out some difficult songs to be played off the cuff with no pedals. This is really a fun event. Loads of talent old and new.
Bobby Koefer is not only a showman at around 80 but also a super guy off stage. They don't come any better. It was good to see Bob Kelly out and around. He helped out Bobby Flores on one set as Jim Loessburg was tied up on another stage. I filled in with Bobby on the end of one set on the T8 Stringmaster. |
