Hey Guys, I was just wondering if the sound of the George L SS is more comparable to the sound of the 10-1 or the E-66, or is it a perfect blend of the warm 10-1 and the sparkly E-66? Thanks

I think the SS is a good combo of the fatness of the 10-1 and the edge of the E-66. Its basically a 10-1 with stainless steel blades so it has more bite than the 10-1. I was hesitant to get my carter with one since they're not widely chosen for some reason but I liked its tone on the carter sound clips.I also heard they sound great on the Fessy so I went for it and i am real happy with it and not looking back at all..Its got that fat super sweet tone, just what I was looking for with my 112 and carter combo.

I've tried several guitars with the 10-SS p/u's. Very clean and also very bright on the high end whenever I've cranked up the volume. They cut through the mix very well and the Magnum is the guitar I've used them on that sounded the best.

I just today ordered my first Pro model guitar from Carter. A figured maple S10 with the George L SS pickup.

I didn't want to wait up to 90 days for delivery, so I bought from current inventory. I had intended to get a 10-1 pickup, but the floor models already had the SS and I was told t
Very Happy hat its their current recommendation for their S10's and that was good enough for me, since I don't have a whole lot of experience to draw upon yet concerning guitars and pickups.

Phil,

You'll love the SS pickup. Its a very underrated pickup . The XR-16 seems to get all the headlines but I like the SS better in my carter S-10 since its not such a high output for the Nashville 112 (too much for such a low powered amp) .The SS has a sweeter clearer tone than the 10-1 as well! You made a good choice despite its under the radar reputation.
