Looking for a lever lock of some sort that would work with a MSA Guitar?? Need to lock the E's to Eb somehow, any good ideas you have would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Ernie, you might check with Don Fritsche at BMI guitars. When I got my old BMI S-12 years ago it had a lock that I took off and later sold to someone else. It would probably work on an MSA. It was an external device that screwed on the back of the guitar which had a small handle which was spring loaded and when released it would push against the RKR lever. It would also work on a LKR lever. I wish I had a picture but I don't.....JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Jerry: thanks, I will keep that in mind if I can't find or invent one myself. I was hoping to find a nice fellow like you that had one to sell!! Mfg's want $$$$ for everything, guess you can't blame them for that, its a tough business, believe me, I know!!

This company offers several different models that work well with either the RKR or LKL lever on most any guitar.

Just funnin' with ya' Ernie. I believe it was Jeff Newman that made a comment one time about using a bungie cord to hold the lever in place when playing in the B6 mode. Just wrap it around the lever and the guitar leg and you've got a lever-lock! That's why it only works on the RKR or the LKL.

Don't get a bungie cord that is too tight. When she comes loose it can be a very painful situation! |

Gee, I never new this post was going to be so much fun, I guess a nice short bungie cord would work, if you kept an eye on it as Ken Fox would have me do!! Actually, I have a pretty good idea on how to make one, I will send pictures after its done, mite be awhile though!! I have had several S-12 with lever locks on the D lever, Reg Diller had a dandy on his S-12 that he made, it was the best one I ever had. One of the Kline S-12's also had one but it was tough to engage compared to Reg's. Reg built the guitar too, it was different, but it was a great playing & sounding steel guitar, I could kick myself for selling that one!!
