UPDATE/UPDATE: I'm sold out as of today at 10:00 a.m., 10/02/07--I'm going to see about getting some more made and will repost asap--I really appreciate your response! Donation will be on the way to b0b." I recently had a local machine shop make me a larger tuning wrench and had some extras made for those who might also be interested. Please see the pic's of this wrench which I've nicknamed, "Grab-n-Tune". I have a '76 LDG and the Knob works just fine and doesn't interfere with the guitar jack/plug. Now, if your guitar jack/plug is too close to the tuners, you may not be able to use the wrench on your 10th for a Single and your 1st & 10th for a double-neck due to the diameter of the Knob. You will need about an inch clearance based upon some guitars. You could still use your smaller wrench to get to these areas...The dimensions of this wrench are: Shaft is 1" long and it fits a 3/16" hex tuning nut and goes to a depth of 5/16" into the shaft. The Knob is 1.5" in diameter and the turning surface width is 5/8". It's milled out of aluminum. Now, if you're interested in one of these wrenches, please email me for price at: choctawoaks@cox.net [/b]

A guy in central Florida used make and sell exactly the same thing. I saw them at a steel show in Florida about 10 years ago. |

Jack,
Did you try one? I just wanted a wrench with a bigger/better grip than what's available today...I guess it's like bar sizes, picks, etc., we have alot of choices on what works for us...Carl |

Yes Jack, I saw Jeff using a larger tuner on one of his videos--I'm sure a larger tuning wrench fit his seemingly large hands better...I spoke with Fran about it and she wasn't sure where he had got it--she said folks were always making things for him as a way of saying thanks for what he had given them...Thanks, Carl |
