Sorry but I can't make this one, Richard. I have an Oct 2 deadline to hit on my day job, and I expect I'll have to work that Saturday.

Richard, Sorry, I'm working the San Bernardino Sheriff's benefit Rodeo this weekend. I sure would like to meet you guys and swap licks, stories, etc. Can I have a rain check?

Looks like a lot of folks are unavailable this time. That's a shame... I really enjoy seeing our "regulars" and meeting new comrads in steel. (I have so much to learn, and there's wisdom in an abundance of counselors.) There must be some way of coordinating so we can catch as many as possible. Richard, maybe you could throw out a line on Events And Announcements prior to setting the next date and ask interested folks to email back to you their available Saturdays...? I know it's a bit more work for you to do that, but we might just nab more of 'em for next time!

And still, even with a small bunch, it'll be fun. Looking forward to it.

As some of you already know, I will not be able to make it this Saturday, because of being out of town. But I hope you guys have a great time and I surely will try to attend the next one. And I was planning on trying to bring a bag of "rock salt" and offer it to Bill in exchange for listening to him pick. I guess that will have to wait until next time too. -- Marc

A directory of photos from this past Saturday's jam can be found at http://www.rahul.net/thinker/steeljam-09-30-00/ . I'll make an "official" page of pictures including the assorted player's names once I get a few logistics straightened out.

Great pics Bill. The steeler next to me is John O'neill (sp?). The others (not playing) Were Alan Shank (standing) and his brother (whose name escapes me right now). Alan added some fine vocals to some songs.

I would like to thank those who attended and especially Jim Baron for the use of his rhythm tracks and sound system.

Glad to pitch in. Thanks again to Richard for being host and to all attendees for joining in the fun.

One buddy at work, after seeing the page, said, "Where are the MP3 and video clips?" Hmmm..... maybe next time!
