I'm looking for an old Lapsteel.i believe they are known as English sound. They were made by Valco

Believe what you're looking for is "English Electronics" brand guitar, some models called "Tonemaster", made by Valco, very similar to National and Supro guitars of same era.

Bruce,I have a friend up here who has one...it's a gold sparkle 6 string with a stand and it has a thing on the bridge that changes tunings,he lives a few blocks away from me,I'll ask him,Stu

English Electronics lap steels were made by Valco, branded for Norman English, a guitar/steel teacher in the 1950s and 60's. The model below is a Tonemaster (not to be confused with an Oahu Tonemaster). 25" scale length, MOTS covering.
