Just as I was about to sign off for the night I ran a check for updates to Firefox and it's extensions. I was surprised to discover that Firefox 2.0.0.7 was just released today. The updater offered to perform an in-place upgrade, which went smoothly, as usual. All of my extension are still compatible.
This upgrade is to fix a serious vulnerability in the handling of hostile command lines addressed to the browser's "chrome," specifically by QuickTime Media-link files. I strongly recommend upgrading tonight or tomorrow. With Fx open, click on Help > Check for Updates.
Firefox is available for downloading here. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

No, you are incorrect Randy. Firefox only checks for updates automatically; it does not install them without user interaction. With Firefox open, go to Help > "Check for updates" and when you see that a new version is available let the update begin. Firefox will close, then re-open telling you that you now have the most recent version.
Go to Help > About Mozilla Firefox to see your current version (before and after). _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

Also, under Tools > Options > Advanced > Update you can check off some auto/manual update configurations and view your update history. |
