One of my daughters little computer nerd pals,and you've met the type before {pencil holder in the pocket, taped broken black glasses} yep one of those. Said to me, "Mr Redmon, no wonder you spend your waking moments scanning your computer for cookies, your settings are all wrong". I told him not to touch my computer, and i would ask my pros. What settings do you guys recommend for cookies? He says,
Privacy "Medium High"
Advanced "First Party Cookies Accept" "Third Party Cookies Block"
What is this all about, and where do i change it if i am spoose ta? those little know it all pukes Mad

George;
Much fuss has been made about cookies since I got into computers, back when Noah exited the Ark. My policy is simple; allow all cookies. Every now and then I may go through them and delete the ones that have names including "ads" or "hits" but generally, they are simply encrypted text files about your logins, ads viewed or pages visited, or time you last visited a website. This forum uses cookies to determine if you have viewed a newly replied to topic and changes the icon when you do read it.

If you are paranoid about the so-called "tracking cookies" you can use Spybot S&D to delete them. Ad-Aware also removes all advertising cookies, unless you tell it to ignore them. Ditto for SpywareBlaster.

Recap
What do I think about computer cookies? Yum, here cooookie!
