Well this Friday I'm playing with Dale Watson in Houston at the new "Continental Club" downtown at 3900 main st.
Then Saturday night will be my last gig with Dale at the Broken Spoke here in Austin,Tx.
Funny thing is my very first gig with Dale was at the Broken Spoke(boy I come a long way )
In Houston we start at 11:30pm and in Austin we start at 9:00.
Don't miss this last gig if your around because we will also have Dales new steel player Emmett Roch on steel and probably our good friend Redd from Merle Haggards band, on Guitar; and you never know who else my show up to pick and or sing.
See ya there.
Ricky

Oh what I would give to be there Sat. night. Your last, Emmett's first, this is going to be a special night, man.
And by the way, Ricky--I like how you wrote "Redd" because you didn't have a CD at hand to keep from mangling the spelling of "Volkaert". Am I right?
I did have the CD at hand.

I'm sure I'll catch up with ya' out here in cyberspace from time to time.

Hey thanks everybody for your encouraging words. Hey Billy I'll tell Redd everyone misses him; and what were you playing with Porter? Was that Fred playing steel? I didn't get a chance to meet everyone at the Opry.
Well my last night with Dale at the Broken Spoke wasn't too eventful. It was a pretty packed house and we played some pretty dang good music all night; but no special guest.
Emmett played better than the last time I heard. He came over to the house earlier this week and we woodshedded for about 6 hours. I do feel sorry for Emmett somewhat; because it is very hard to come in and meet the expectations folks are used to hearing Dale and I do for every night for the last 3 1/2 years.
Don't get me wrong; Emmett can handle himself just fine; but the whole style and sound of this band is a very hard thing to get ahold of in just one week; let along years.
I wish them all good luck and I would venture to say; I may pop in anywhere to pick a few gigs from time to time; because Dale and I agree you just can't stop cold what we've done together and that makes me very happy.
Looks like our new website featuring the SS HAWAIIAN will be up shortly and I will be pickin' some with Charlie Robison and Ed Burleson and maybe even some dates Marty Muse can't do with the Derailers; so I'll be around.
Ricky

Cool Billy and sorry I didn't get a chance to say howdy. Yeah I remember Billy Dee saying he saw someone he hadn't seen in a while and was very happy.
