Just looking for ideas....I was thinking about a new NV112, since there aren't many old ones here in Canada, and shipping might be pricey.
On a bit of a budget....the 112 seems to be somewhat standard though.
Any thoughts?
Problems, differences between new and old? |

Gavin, I'm certainly no authority on these things, but that NV 112 is a great little amp. I still have an old original LTD400 which is probably the best amp I ever had, is heavy with the Commonwealth in it now that replaced the JBL. Have owned a NV 400, which many love, but I never was real thrilled with it. The NV 112 will do the job to my liking, and if the place we play is too big, mic that little rascal ! There have been several threads on here addressing this very thing; it really is a very subjective thing, so you end up having to use you own judgement. Gavin, You can't go wrong with the Nashville 112. I have had one for several years, and it goes with me most of the time. I also have a Steel King that I love the sound of, but it is heavy. The Nash. 112 can handle any of the places where I play with no problem. Jeff Bradshaw in Alberta handles Peavey and you could probably pick it up from him and avoid the shipping. George |

Chris I used 2 112s for about three years for every gig we did, but we always miked every thing, but as far as stage volume i could keep up with no problem, in a very loud band. As far as 1 112 it would depend how big and how loud the band your playing with is.
If you miked off and had some of you coming through the monitor you probably would'nt have any problem in in a farly loud band, aleast thats what i discovered with my personal exsperience. These little amps will surprise you on how loud they can get and keep a good tone. MPO |

Gavin,
Howdy! It's Marc (former Edmontonian, former 'George Bushes' member...) here. I'm living in Victoria, and I just found an old Peavey Session 400 at a local shop. I think once they've cleaned up the pots it'll go for $250. A lot of the guys around here swear by them.
The guys at the shop have asked me to bring my steel by and check it over once they're done with it, and it won't hit the floor until I do so.
Let me know if you're at all interested.

You can't beat a NV 400 for the $. Before you jump on the NV112 bandwagon, try one next to a NV400. (If you have the opportunity.) |
