Check out this link to tons of music with sound samples, most 2 minutes long with lots of good steel guitar, fiddles and guitar. There even a huge set of 2 minute samples of Gene Watson and another of Johnny Bush unplugged.

ALL Country: Traditional Country albums (in random order, to be fair):

CD Baby Traditional Country

And my favorite album of the bunch (look at who gave it a favorable review):

Thanks Greg. Lots of good stuff. The Hank Stone CD "In a Texas Honky Tonk" has some great steel. Genuine Texas Country Shuffle and Swing with Emmons, the Nashville A team and a special guest appearance from Johnny Bush. I'm going to go broke buying all the great CD's they have.

Hah! What a nice surprise to see that my band, Beats Walkin's, last CD, 'Bop-a-Billy Swing!' is one of the top-10 best sellers in the Western Swing category! Cool! (Now, where did I put that big check they sent me...? Hmmm....)

Jim, I did see your album out there and it is doing very well. I finally had to give up listening to these as burnout was approaching. There's some unbelievable fiddle arrangements in these and the sample lengths are unusually generous.

Thanks for posting this. I went through it and noticed they hadn't included mine. Sent them an email and it's up now. For anyone interested it's listed Country Dave Harmonson "I'll Have The Country Music Please".
I only played steel on two cuts, "Please Help Me I'm Falling" and "A Tombstone Every Mile", but I played all the guitar and dobro except one electric slide guitar track by my good friend Joel Tepp on "What Am I Living For". There's some great fiddling by Paul Elliott and Joel plays some cool harmonica and clarinet. Hope you like.
