To celebrate my PSG birthday I took my wife out to dinner (ok that sounds corny)

What type of maintenance do you do once a year that is differant than "normal" maintenance?

Polish it up, change strings, check undercarriage for anything binding or loose.
Turn it back over and play the crap out of it another year.

Well, I would be afraid a dinner by itself would be insufficient for an anniversary. There seems to be an expectation for more. Jewelry seems to work best. Wait...maybe I misunderstood your question. Oh Well

Well, I used to take the whole guitar apart and do a total "clean and lube" at least once a year, usually in the off season. My guitars always played just great because of it...and I could thoroughly inspect the mechanism for wear and damage. It gave me a great sense of reliability.

Then again, I'm a glutton for punishment!! Laughing Laughing

Hey, he did good. At lease he didn't take the PSG out to dinner.. Very Happy I might have draped a "Happy Birthday" banner on the PSG and got a pic to show around at dinner... Cool

Maybe we don't understand. Who's birthday was it?
I can't say that jewerly isn't the way to go, but there are some females who rather have the sliding compound miter saw they got their eye on...
