That was wonderful. That MSA has a superb tone, Vernon. Is that a newer one or the Classic wood body guitars?

I have my old 1976 Classic S-10 back with a Lawrence 705 pickup. I sure love the tone of mine as well.

Ken,
Thanks for the nice comments. It's a 1977 MSA wood neck with BL 710's. Using a Podxt into the mixer.
Sometimes I put my Lexicon in the signal path.
Installed a BL 605 the other day(I have a 605 and 705) on the E neck. Will send you a MP3 I did before surgery, using the BL 605.Let me know what you think??.
The LTD 400 you reworked is wonderful!!!.
Regards
Vern

The tone reminded me so much of my MSA! I bought mine new in 1976 and changed to a Bill Lawrence/Buddy Emmons pickup (BL705) a year later. I lost track of it, sold it in Oregon about 10 years a go. I just got it back this year am so pleased with that tone!!

Your tone was great, I knew that had to be the old wood body! The Bill Lawrence pickups sound great on it as well.

It was a pleasure to do the LTD 400 for you. Those are great amps!!! I have one in the shop now I modded, just waiting for a new on/off switch. The Sarno mod sure sounds fine in these amps.

Vernon, beautiful work; I listened to a couple other of your tunes on the Utube there. ...that MSA & the LTD 400 sure sound good together. Ken did my old LTD 400 also, and is better than it ever was new.

Vernon-Nice touch on that MSA. Those later Wood Lacquer ones with the Aluminum pocket for the pickup had a great tone. I remember playine that "King's Serenade on my old 6 string Supro back in 1936 at the Hawaiian Room in a club. I played a lot of Hawaiian tunes back in those days, in that kind of club. Keep up that nice playing....al.SmileSmile

Vernon,
All I can say is the same thing Jody said.
If you close your eyes while listening you can envision laying in a hammock tied between 2 palm trees, swinging in the tropical breeze.

Very Happy
Vern: I have to extend my warmest thanks to you for putting all these wonderful tunes on the SGF.The King's Serenade is grand listening; you put such heart and soul into your playing. And I must admit, that Wooden "MSA" is just sensational in tone and quality sustaining power. And I'm looking forward to seeing you play your D-8 " RICKY"; in the near future; how's the hand coming, Vern? You are doing a fine job. Keep them coming, my friend..Warm Regards, Bernie Whoa! Whoa!

Bernie,
Thanks for the nice comments. My hand is still tender and will take a little while longer to get up to snuff.I have just built me a Tube pre-amp and running it thru some test this morning. Will have to work on the tone stack a little more to get what I want. It's sounding great so far.I am using a couple 12AX7's and a effects send and return circuit (Stereo)with a Lexicon as the effects unit, dual mix controls on the return.
Regards.

Thanks,Ken.
Pretty guitar, mine is a 1977 and was a pretty blue.
It has faded after 30 yrs. Bet yours has a beautiful tone with the BL-705. Working on a tube pre-amp,sounding nice at this point.may leave it as is.
