Hi all,
Just got the latest copy of No Depression magazine & there's a nice interview with Lloyd Green in it. Touches on everything from his early days learning the Oahu steel lessons to his recent collaboration with Dale Watson & of course the legendary work he did in between.
Likely not on newstands yet, but look for the issue with Josh Ritter on the cover (not the current one with Porter Waggoner).
FYI,
Vince |

Yep, loved it. It's great to see a pedal steel guitarist getting a multi-page spread in a music magazine. |

I can't wait to pick this up. I really need to subscribe to No Depression, it's my favorite magazine - and like a dummy, I buy every issue at the local magazine store, and pay the newsstand price.
Any interview with Lloyd Green is required reading. Along with his wonderful playing, he is a most cerebral fellow. _________________ Mark |

Dag, I don't think the article is available on-line. But here is the link to the magazine, if you want to subscribe to it:

This is a great magazine as it covers a broad spectrum of "alt.county", ironically including many of the classic country artists that don't get coverage elsewhere.
Great writing!

This is a great interview with a master player. Just got my issue of ND in the mail today and was stunned (and pleased) to see the interview. This is issue #71 September-October 2007, and the interview is in the Most Valuable Player column. _________________ Joe Buczek

The MVP player in that issue is Nashvilles Fats Kaplin. He is also a great pedal steel guitarist. (and fiddle/Accordion/mandolin/old time banjo and ude (!) player) |
