Posted 23 Aug 2007 4:40 pm Randy's Midlife Crisis

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Received my copy of "The Next Step" aka "Randy's Midlife Crisis" this morning, and since I was out and about I started it up in the car. I found myself veering off the beaten path, where the trees canopy the road and my speed slowed to more of a coast as I completely took in this "Master"piece of Music. The selection of songs has a diversity, but the whole thing flows comfortably because it is the essence of Randy Beavers style and "mastery". It played through twice as I listened to each and every detail, carefully and intentionally executed by seasoned musicians, "masters" all. And, between Denny and Brad you were sure not to lose any of that "magic" in the mix; on the contrary, the instrumentation has such presence.
It occurred to me that the scenery I was enveloped in was very similar to that of the recording studio you used, which must have helped to create the "mood" for each of you to bring your very best to the table when those tracks were created.
Your graphics are just as classy as the music.
Financially impractical? Excellence is always worth the price. I applaud your talent and your resolve to settle for nothing less.
I love this CD, Randy.

So this is what your Midlife Crisis did to you?
I don't anticipate turning 50 to have much effect on me at all... Wink

shut up, Randy

You've got what....20 years at the least before that happens?

BTW Randy's cd is a jewel. Love the arrangements and the playing of course.

Hey Laney?
As my adopted sister.......why are you talking about 50 years and stuff ?...I have been in your house a couple of times in the last two years and hope to be there again in a couple or three weeks.......why someone who looks in their early Twenties would say that is beyond me..
If for a minute I thought it was true....whatever kept you looking as you do.....I would ask for the secret and go into business with you...we could make a fortune !!!!!
See you in St Louis or Nashville..........we fly out in the morn

Dido's to what Laney said about Randy's NEW CD. And just where in the world did all of those fancy words come from ,out of a country girl like you. Surprised Just teasin' Laney.
This does NOT happen to everyone that turns 50. Or I guess it just didn't happen for me...HA! Confused The real fun part for me is that I have to learn to play some of these new tunes for next week. I'm lovin' it. Very Happy

Great CD Randy, I think you have outdone yourself again.
And, Laney, if I ever get a CD,which is very unlikley, I want you to write the liner notes for me..OK??

See you in St Louis...

Hey Paul,

In response to your comments, I grew up around so much profanity that I made up my mind very young to learn as many "other" words in the English language as I could to "express myself". But, thanks for the compliment. (I did also mean every word I said)

I would be honored to do your next liner notes; perhaps when you record your CD of love songs to Dee..on drums, that should be very "moving".

You're going to be such a big hit in St. Louis!!!!!!

"Knock" 'em dead.......y'all!(some words a "country girl" just HAS to hold on to!) Smile

All of you folks going to St. Louis, drive carefully and have a wonderful time. I hope to tune in to the Saturday night show.
Miss Laney, in 25 years or so you can worry about turning 50.
I know that we all pick on Russ a lot, but I for one, love to hear him play. I class him as a super picker and have a great deal of respect for him. I think you two are the perfect couple. alan
"I think Randy Beavers and Laney and Russ will need a truck load of those new CD's in St. Louis".
