Paul Wade,
This picture was taken in 1971 on the TV set of the "Stu Phillips Show" taped in Louisville KY. We3 did over 50 syndicated shows from there, driving up from Nashville several times a month.
This is the month I first Met Tommy White, the guitar was originally ordered and sent to Weldon Myrick. He played it on the Opry for several weeks and sold it to another Opry steel player "Hank Corwin". I traded Hank something for it, can't remember what.
It sounded great, played great and I was very happy with it, but when Tommy's Dad wanted a steel guitar for his son, I sold it to him ($900.00) Look what I started! Tommy is the modern day killer!

In this picture I was writing a chord chart for an upcoming song that the guitar player, "Reggie Allie" and myself had a complex intro on.

Also, the guitar was "White Leatherette" mica, with black wood necks, Weldon's idea I think. Wish I had it today, Tommy White says he knows who has it now, I don't know the player, only know that Tommy says it's in Kentucky somehwere. Someone has a great sounding guitar here.

Thanks for asking Paul, hope to see you in St. Louis.

Bobbe,

I used to run camera and sometimes video tape on the Stu Phillips Show. When we took the show on the road, as Music Place, we loaded the video tape machine with a fork lift into the van. Now a laptop computer records better video.

I see this one has the "Tulip" tuners, I thought this was something that came along later. I had a white '75 that was a great guitar and I let Bob Bartoli talk me out of it. Sad Sad Sad

Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

Darvin, you could special order these tuners as early as '69, they weren't standard until '75-'82.
Do you know anything about the MSA history?

Yes, Mr Marvin, "Music Place was the name of the show.

One more foot note, Tommy White just came by the store and told me he does not know where the guitar is at this moment, totally lost to us now.
