I have temporarily been sent to Elk City, OK to work. Know of any steel players in the area or bands or where one might hear live music? |

There ARE some steel players there, I sell product to some of them, I sold an Emmons guitar to one a year ago. Good area for good friends, good western swing, and driving if you love to go long distances!

Of all people Bobbe, I never excpeted a response from you. Thanks. Maybe someone will come up with a connection.
I am thinking of bringing my Cherokee 150 down here and flying back and forth to home. It is a five hour drive one way and I have been going home each week end. If I can find a little action down here my may lay over. |

I met a great fella' once up there and I think his name was John Bell. He was the steel player for the OKC opry and I do not remember when that is. Probably once a month. You could check with the C of C there.
He is a solid player and loves to talk steel guitar.
When I met him in Elk City he had long straight hair as I wish I had. He is a super fella' and I hope you can look him up.
I did hear him play and he is a MONSTER player.
Good Luck,

Exactly, Mr. David Pike. He's a customer and has bought several guitars from me.
Dave, the Cherokee 150 is a great piece of transportation, watch the funky W/X and the restricted areas. OK and TX are full of them.
