I found a dobro 6-string, square neck, no identifying markings except for the Dobro logo and the number D-358 (on the top edge of the headstock). It's in good condition, no serious dings or scratches. The owner (a non-player) told me it was made in Gardena, California. It has a decent case, but I don't know if it's original. He's asking $650.00. Does that price seem reasonable?

Gerald-The "D" in the serial number indicates a wood body Dobro made by OMI-So it is not a Pre-WWII vintage Dobro-They came in a number of models so to put a real value we would need to know more about it's features to identify the model number-Generally speaking Dobros with square necks bring more than round necks-If it has "F" holes instead of the screened round sound holes it would be the lowest grade (student) model

It appears to have been made between 1974 and 1979. That's a reasonably good deal-those are well-built, solid guitars.

Snap it up. These are fine guitars. It will never be worth a lot as they are not considered collectable, but they are great for lugging around and will give years of service. I have one that is 35 years old and its a great dobro.

It does have the screened holes rather than F-holes. Thanks to all for the info. - GP
