Hi Nathan.
I'm 19 and was in your shoes a year or so ago when I was looking for my first pedal steel. I don't know anything about Thomas pedal steels but $1200 is certainly a good price for a high q ...

I don't have any experience with Helix but I do use my GFI with a Fractal FM3. It works very well. It gets nice cleans with great reverbs. There are several other Fractal users here. I'd give them a l ...

I too find that my GFI Ultra SD10 has a ton of sustain. It is my first pedal steel so I can not compare it to other steels but I am impressed by it. Certainly more than any of my 6 strings!

Echoing what Andrew said, for the price of the Brisco Bud you can get a Justice Jr or a Stage One or Encore. The wait for a Justice isn't bad last I checked or you'll have to be patient for the Stage ...

In a related question, is it possible to activate the BC pedals while keeping the AB pedals down in transition? Ie have the A and C# not change pitch while the E becomes F#?

If it's just the nylon tuning nuts that need to be tweaked, that's fine. One can't tune, or really play psg, if they can't adjust those!

I was only concerned if other t ...
