Most likely its fine, but if you have a multimeter it would not hurt to double check that you have ground continuity between the ground on the jack to the pots and bridge plate.

Cool piece of wood Carlos. A quick search of blue mahoe shows it to be around the weight and hardness of sugar / hard rock maple. I'll bet it finishes out nice and should make for a nice steel. | |
