My 1000 didn't have any of those little 'hognose' clips when I got it but it did have the roller bridge.

After a few string breakages, I took some clips off an old 400 I have....

Result is LESS stri ...

I've got the 1000.

It's been re-finished and the front neck has been lowered about an inch, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. In my opinion, it's the best.

Hmmm...I want a Bigsby....or a D-8 sho-bud.

my 1000 was $550.

But it's been re-finished, it's far from mint, And it was missing the pedal board. Hehe.

I've got a 1000.

I play only the old old stuff and the Fender is the only choice for me. I play no pedals on the front C6 neck, and I use only 1 pedal change on the back E6 neck.

For that old stuff ...

Now....THAT's country music.

And the honky tonk version of Soft Rain is MUCH better than the pop country version. MUCH better.
