I've tried some at times over the years, but never found any to be satisfactory.

I concur that the Oak-Grigsby Superswitch is an excellent choice. Make sure you get the 4-pole double-wafer variety with 24 solder lugs.

Nylon is extremely hydrophilic (water-absorbing), so water based dyes like RIT fabric dyes work beautifully. They come in gazillion colors, plus you can mix them and create your own if desired.
